Perrot’s current project is a propaganda of the truth and reality of Rio de Janeiro with a contemporary situationist approach. From interviews she has done (inspired by the ‘Cinema Verite’, film movement of the 60’s in France), Delphine turns the strategy of ‘detournement’ of the graphic vocabulary of hand painted messages into subvertised, sharp and tough provocative sentences.
People’s words are the medium of art, exploring a new artistic posture crossing fields of journalism, sociology, anthropology and psychology. Her work is an ‘artisanal’ sign painting project that transforms ‘banners’ into art. They are displayed via ‘ambulant’ (mobile) installations. Messages hoisted by people or on a van through the city.
‘Ordinary people make everyday art’ (From Guy Debord, founder of the Situationist movement).
